Tyre Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and innovative Tyre Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, testing, quality assurance, and performance improvement of tyres for various vehicle categories. This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a passion for continuous innovation in tyre technology and materials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new tyre patterns, structures, and compounds to meet performance, safety, and durability standards.

  • Conduct testing and analysis on tyre performance including wear, traction, rolling resistance, and durability.

  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure product consistency.

  • Review and interpret test data to identify improvement areas in design or materials.

  • Evaluate competitor products and market trends to support product innovation and development.

  • Ensure compliance with national and international tyre standards and regulations.

  • Provide technical support to sales, marketing, and customer service teams.

  • Work closely with suppliers to source and evaluate raw materials, rubber compounds, and reinforcements.

  • Prepare engineering documentation, test reports, and technical specifications.

  • Support troubleshooting and failure analysis for returned or defective tyres.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Rubber Technology, Polymer Science, or related field.

  • 3–7 years of experience in tyre design, testing, or manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of tyre construction, materials, and performance parameters.

  • Hands-on experience with tyre testing equipment and simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CAD).

  • Knowledge of rubber compounding, curing processes, and tread design principles.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., BIS, ECE, DOT, ISO).

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.


Preferred Attributes:

  • Master’s degree or specialization in tyre design or rubber technology.

  • Experience with both radial and bias tyre technologies.

  • Strong project management and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment.
